Dental Bridge
Complete Your Missing Teeth!
Dental bridges are applied due to concerns about oral health and aesthetics resulting from any tooth loss. When placing a bridge, teeth are covered with crowns on both sides. Artificial teeth are then attached to the crowns to continue the treatment.
Types of Dental Bridges
A dental bridge consists of dental crowns connecting both sides of the bridge and the reconstructed tooth or teeth in the middle. There are three main types of dental bridges.
• Traditional Bridge: This is the most commonly used bridge method. It is made from ceramic or porcelain fused to metal. Additionally, bridges made entirely of zirconium are also used.
• Cantilever Bridge: This bridge treatment is used in patients with teeth on only one side of the tooth gap.
• Maryland Bridge: This bridge treatment method is also prepared by creating wings to adhere to existing teeth with a porcelain tooth inside a metal framework.
Regardless of which of these treatment methods is used, the health and protection of the surrounding teeth ensure the longevity of your bridge. Just like with other dental treatments, maintaining oral and dental health is crucial after bridge treatments. Regular cleaning of your bridge, as well as using dental floss as recommended by our dentists, is very important.
Who Is Suitable for Dental Bridges?
Patients who want to restore the appearance and function of their teeth and prioritize dental aesthetics can benefit from this treatment. Dental bridge treatments are most commonly applied to patients whose teeth have been damaged due to gum disease. Like all treatment methods, dental bridge treatments are applied by professional dentists only in patients deemed suitable and with the methods deemed appropriate.
Materials Used in Dental Bridge Treatments
Materials are selected for bridge construction based on the patient's dental condition and health history. Some of these materials include:
• Solid Zirconium
• Zirconium-reinforced porcelain
• Full metal
• Metal-reinforced
How Is a Dental Bridge Applied and What Is the Treatment Duration?
In dental bridge treatments, our professional dentists first examine the patient's controls and health history. Then, depending on the amount and extent of damage to the patient's teeth, they decide on the treatment method and processes. If necessary during the examination process, cutting and thinning procedures are applied to the teeth. After these procedures, an impression is taken for the area where the bridge will be applied. The mold of the tooth is created. Following the impression, a temporary bridge may be placed for the patient's comfort. After the teeth are prepared, there is a fitting stage where the fit of the teeth and the bridge are checked. Once the adjustment process is complete, the bridge is cemented, and the process is completed. In our clinic, full zirconium bridges are produced completely computer-assisted, with measurements taken using a 3D camera.
How Much Do Dental Bridges Cost?
The cost of dental bridges is one of the common concerns. However, there are many factors that vary in this treatment method. Factors such as the number of damaged teeth in the patient, the materials used for the crowns, and other factors can cause variability in the price information. Therefore, informing our patients about the most suitable and healthiest treatment method is among our primary goals.
